GLOBAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP FORUM

at the Global Leadership Forum, World Culture Festival

The Forum unites students and youth leaders from around the world with leaders from academia, business, government and civil society, who are doing work to build peace through education, service and social change initiatives. As part of the Global Leadership Forum, youth delegates from around the globe will have the opportunity to meet with and explore their leadership by engaging with renowned and entrepreneurial global political, social, interfaith and business leaders.

Held under the aegis of the World Culture Festival, the Global Leadership Forum seeks to explore how leadership strategies can be better adapted to meet the needs of our current globalizing and interconnected geopolitical and socio-economic landscape under themed discussion panels. The Forum will connect a worldwide network of young and experienced leaders and inspire a wave of service and leadership on university campuses and in communities around the world.

About the Global Youth Delegation

Global Leadership Forum Youth Delegates will participate in Global Leadership Forum panel discussions on being:

  • Current and Far-Sighted
  • Humane and Digital
  • Global and National
  • Dynamic and Peaceful
  • Ethical and Profitable
  • Steady and Adaptive

The Global Youth Leadership Forum will culminate in an invitation to attend the launch of the Citizen Peace movement at the Citizen Peace Conference this summer in the United States. Citizen Peace is a student-led movement to create a wave of peace on campuses and in communities, to counter violence erupting from fear and hatred of difference across race, religion, and culture.

To deepen and continue the experience of the Global Leadership Forum, youth delegates are invited to continue their service learning and leadership experience for ten days of self-exploration and service learning. As part of the Yesplus Alternative Spring Break, leaders will travel together from Delhi to Bangalore’s Art of Living Center, then into rural India for service in villages.

(1) Service Learning World Cafe. March 15, Bangalore. To integrate the experience of the Global Leadership Forum and orient around service learning for social change, participants will engage in an interactive, inspiring World Cafe.

It includes techniques of yoga, meditation, mindfulness and self-awareness, and highlights well-being, confidence and emotional intelligence as the basis of self-efficacy, leadership and social change.

(3) Sustainable Development Solar Energy Service-Learning Initiative. March 20-25, Cuttack.
