Spending for social cause will raise happiness quotient: Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

27th of Feb 2018

‘If you feel you are in a bad mood, commune with nature’

Art of Living founder Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Monday urged investors to spend more on social cause to enhance their happiness quotient and live a life with contentment.

“In life, satisfaction is the key to success of a person. What is the fun in only earning if one suffers from insomnia, digestion disorders and other health problems,” he asked and mentioned how in the United Kingdom a Minister for Loneliness had been appointed as the incidence of depression and mental illness is on the rise.

Special plenary

He was speaking during a spellbound conversation with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at a special plenary organised on the last day of three-day CII Partnership Summit here. The programme was moderated by author Pranjal Sharma.

“Yoga, breathing exercise and meditation are the best stress-busting therapies. If you feel you are in a bad mood, spend time with nature or visit a planetarium. You will get relaxation automatically,” he said.

Mr. Naidu said he worked with great passion and working was just a fun.

“I work hard but I don’t compromise on six hours of uninterrupted sleep,” he said amid loud cheers from the delegates who attended from various parts of the world. Mr. Naidu said creation of ill-gotten wealth would create problems.
