I Meditate features Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sunday at the BMO Centre

20th of Apr 2013

If you have something on your mind, you’ll have a chance to banish it from your head during I-Meditate, Sunday at the BMO Centre.

Organizer Pooja Tolani of the Art of Living Foundation tells 660News, it’s a great way to learn how to de-stress.

“You get an opportunity to meditate with about a thousand people,” says Tolani, “along with a global humanitarian.”

The global humanitarian she’s referring to is Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

But what if you’ve tried meditating in the past, but it just didn’t seem to work?

“That’s very, very common,” says Tolani.  “I think this would be the exact event to start at, because it’s guided, it’s easy, it’s with someone who’s been meditating since he was a child.  I think there couldn’t be a more perfect start than this.”

She adds that meditation is an ideal way to deal with the stresses of modern day life.

“The quality of life today has become such that I feel like it’s no longer just an interest to meditate,” adds Tolani.  “I feel like it’s become a necessity because they say about 20 minutes of meditation is equal to six hours of sleep.  And who couldn’t do with that extra rest, right?”
