Yoga enthusiasts gather to celebrate Yoga at the Art of Living International Center.

The Art of Living in partnership with Nehru Yuva Kendra welcomed the morning of second International Yoga Day with asanas, music and meditation at the pristine Art of Living International Center. The sequence of postures was based on the common-yoga-protocol prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH. Celebrations drew Yoga enthusiasts from all over the state including children, youth and senior citizens.

The Art of Living through its volunteers and teachers reached out to millions of Yoga lovers in over 156 countries for the second International Yoga Day celebrations.

The program was attended by P C Mohan, Hon. Member of Parliament, Bangalore, Gayatri Reddy, Coordinator, NSS, Karnataka Division, Commodore Rao, Chairman, Vyakti Vikas Kendra India, Commodore Rajeev, Deputy Director General, NCC Directorate.

Participants also got a taste of how much fun Yoga can be along with being healthy for the body, mind and spirit. Jackie Camp, a dental assistant from Canada said, “Celebrating Yoga Day for me was celebrating peace, love and harmony within myself and recognizing all these qualities within others".

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder, Art of Living will inaugurate the International Yoga Day celebrations at the European Parliament, Brussels by leading the parliament members through a guided meditation at the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin Hall. He will also lead a series of public events on the importance and relevance of meditation in the cities of Washington DC, Boston, Columbus, Minnesota, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle as well as the United Kingdom.
