Plentiful Water

Participants of The Art of Living’s Youth Leadership Training Program (YLTP) took it on themselves to reach out to villagers of Devool-Vadsa, a small village in Dharva taluka of Yavatmal. Starting in December 2006, the youth leaders, along with the locals built toilets and a ‘bandara’ or small dam.

The first ‘bandara’ has harvested rain water and has yielded immediate results. The surrounding areas have become green with the onset of monsoon.

Villagers like Vittobha Kutte had to trudge four kilometers each day to ensure water for their buffaloes. The water supply from the ‘bandara’ saves his trip and gives him more time on his farm.
